President Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos Jr. has declared a special non-working holiday in Ilocos Norte in celebration of the 106th birth anniversary of his father, late former President Ferdinand Marcos Sr.

The declaration was enclosed in Proclamation No. 327 dated August 23 released on Thursday, August 24.

"On 11 September 2023, the Province of Ilocos Norte will mark the 106th birth anniversary of President Ferdinand E. Marcos,” the order reads.

“It is nothing but fitting and proper that the people of the province of Ilocos Norte be given full opportunity to participate in the occasion and enjoy the celebration,” it added.

The Proclamation was signed by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin.

Marcos Sr. served as the 10th President of the Philippines.

He assumed the presidency in December 1965 and was reelected in 1969.
