RBH No. 6 proposes to review and rewrite provisions focusing on advertising, education, and public services. This was authored by Senate President Juan Miguel 'Migz' Zubiri, Senate President Pro-Tempore Loren Legarda, and Senator Sonny Angara
Senate Majority Leader Joel Villanueva, however, pronounced earlier that many senators “are no longer interested” in pushing the RBH No. 6.
“We also pledge and commit to support an alternative People’s Initiative led by the Senate with the proposition of amendments to the restrictive economic provisions of the Constitution,” the House Speaker said.
The Senate recently issued a manifesto rejecting charter change through People’s Initiative.
Romualdez stressed that “cooperation and collective resolve” at this time of historic juncture is important, adding that they have to “transcend past barriers” to push for reforms.
“Together, we are steadfast in our resolve to cultivate a notion where democracy flourishes, economies thrive, and every Filipino is empowered to realize their fullest potential,” he furthered.
