With "All Saints' Day" and "All Souls' Day" on the horizon, the Southern Police District (SPD) is bolstering security by deploying 2,627 personnel across Southern Metro Manila to ensure a safe and peaceful Undas observance.
This comprehensive security effort will cover 26 cemeteries, 20 columbaria, key border points, and major transportation hubs, including bus terminals, MRT/LRT stations, and airports, to manage the influx of visitors and minimize traffic and security risks.
The deployment will include a mix of checkpoints, anti-crime operations, and both foot and mobile patrols.
Tactical motorcycle units and a quick-response team comprised of SWAT and EOD-K9 units are also part of the SPD’s security plan. Medical teams will be stationed nearby, ready to assist in any emergencies.
"Public safety is our top priority," SPD District Director PBGen Bernard R. Yang emphasized.
"We encourage everyone to remain alert and report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station or assistance desk. By working together, we can ensure a peaceful and safe Undas celebration," he added.
