The Asian Games campaign of Gilas Pilipinas 3x3 came to an end on Saturday, September 30, following a 19-16 loss at the hands of South Korea.
John Rey Pasaol scored six points while bothe John Bismarck Lina and Justine Sanche each added three points as the Philippines tried to remain alive in the tournament in Hangzhou, China.
The Filipinos never recovered after the South Koreans scored the first seven points of the quarterfinals match.
In the final seconds of the game, back-to-back baskets by Bismark and Sanchez allowed the Filipinos to catch up, 18-15, but Lee Weon Seok put a stop to the bleeding,
Lee finished with seven points and Kim Dong Hyun chipped in six points for South Korea to advance to the semifinals of the men's 3x3 basketball event.
