Newly appointed Education Secretary Sonny Angara’s attention was drawn to a photo of Senator Sherwin Gatchalian and Bianca Manalo kissing behind him while he was delivering his speech in the Senate on Tuesday.
In an Instagram post, Angara noted that many were inspired by his speech, particularly its theme of "bringing people together."
"Madami palang na-enganyo sa huling talumpati ko sa Senado — I was told I bring people together 🤣🤣😍😘," Angara jokingly wrote in his caption.

Manalo was surprised and left a comment: "Oh my gosh 🤭🥰😅."
The Senate honored Angara with a heartfelt commendation, expressing their appreciation for his "exemplary service to the institution and the Filipino people as a senator of the Philippines" through a resolution.
"An emotional afternoon at the Senate as my former colleagues passed a resolution to recognize my contributions as a Senator for 11 years," Angara said in an Instagram post.
"Thank you for the kind words and for the opportunity to pass laws and policies together for our people," he added.
Angara took his oath as the new Department of Education (DepEd) Secretary on July 19 at Malacañang Palace.
