Fernando de la Pena, the son of Eva Darren, who recently expressed his dismay and sadness over what happened to her mother at the FAMAS Awards night, accepted the apology of the award-giving body.

"Ms. Eva Darren, our family accepts the olive branch that FAMAS has extended and only hopes that future events will prove to be contrasting," said de la Pena in a Facebook post on Tuesday morning.

"I understand that we are but a small voice in the back row of a rowdy crowd, but if I may humbly, personally, recommend two things for the 73rd FAMAS Awards Night: Please stick to the script... and maybe a nice pair of eyeglasses for all in charge," he concluded the statement.

FAMAS, in its earlier statement, offered Darren a "personal visit of the FAMAS Board to honor her stature, if she allows it."

Darren was supposed to be a presenter at Sunday's ceremony with her fellow veteran actor Tirso Cruz III; however, FAMAS said Darren was unable to be located during the live awarding.

According to de la Pena, his mother was seated at a table front and center adjacent to the stage, together with Divina Valencia and Marissa Delgado.

Dela Pena believed that the most disappointing moment for her mother was for her grandchildren, who hoped to see their grandmother on stage.

Meanwhile, Dela Pena thanked everybody for “the overwhelming display of love and support.”

Darren was recognized as the Best Supporting Actress in FAMAS in 1969.
