

A 10-year-old girl was revived after a Philippine Marine Corps (PMC) personnel provided immediate aid following her drowning at the Madlum River in Barangay Sibul, San Miguel, Bulacan.
According to the PMC, the incident occurred on Sunday when personnel from the 64th Force Reconnaissance Company (FRC), Force Reconnaissance Group (FRG), who were candidates for the Scout Sniper Course at the First Scout Ranger Regiment, namely Cpl. Jestoni Dalman PN(M) and PFC Jaypee Navales PN(M), were on their way to conduct a site survey for a training activity.
The PMC stated that Navales and Dalman noticed a crowd gathering and discovered Joyree Dela Torre, the 10-year-old drowning victim, lying unresponsive. She had initially been rescued by a bystander in the area.
"PFC Navales, who happens to have a background in Basic Life Support (BLS) Training, immediately administered Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) as a first-aid measure to revive the child while waiting for the appropriate medical attention needed," the PMC said in its Facebook post.
After performing CPR, the girl was transported to a nearby medical facility through the assistance of Brgy. Sibul Rural Health Unit and the First Scout Ranger Regiment (FSRR).
Fortunately, the 10-year-old victim was declared to be in stable condition.
The PMC commended PFC Navales and Cpl. Dalman for their dedication and exemplary service to duty.
