After five decades, the five-star hotel Sofitel Philippines Plaza Manila will be closing its doors to the public beginning in July.
In a statement, the multinational hospitality company Accor announced that the luxury hotel located by Manila Bay will cease its operations on July 1 as "part of our ongoing commitment to providing our guests and colleagues with the best possible experience."
Despite its closure, the hotel said it will still honor engagements and reservations until the end of June.
"We are deeply grateful for the unwavering support and patronage of our stakeholders, employees, and guests who have been instrumental in this long journey," they added.
Establish in 1976, Sofitel was designed by National Artist of the Philippines for Architecture Leandro Locsin and Isidro Santos to accommodate heads of state, celebrities, and global corporations alike
The luxury hotel is home to the multi-awarded buffet restaurant, Spiral Manila.
