Taeil from K-pop group NCT has exited the band amid the sexual abuse allegations that surfaced this week, SM Entertainment announced on Wednesday, August 28.
The 30-year-old K-pop idol was accused of a sexual crime. Several social media posts circulated online about the accusations against him, leading him and his agency to decide on his withdrawal from the team.
The official announcement was released by the group’s parent company, SM Entertainment, on X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday. According to their statement, the idol is currently cooperating with the authorities on the investigation, while he and his agency agreed on his departure due to the severity of the issue.

Taeil has been a member of the K-pop boy band NCT, and its sub-units; NCT U, and NCT 127 since his debut in 2015. The band is managed by the label SM Entertainment.
