The Police Regional Office 3 (PRO-3) has awarded "Medalya ng Kadakilaan” or "Medal of Valor" to San Miguel, Bulacan Police Chief Marlon Garcia who died in line with his duty last Saturday, March 25.
In a Facebook post, PRO-3 said Central Luzon Police Director PGen Jose Hidalgo Jr. led the awarding of the medal during his visit to Garcia's wake.
Hidalgo also handed PRO-3's financial assistance to the slain chief police's wife.
"Medal of Valor" is an award to a police officer who "earned lasting credit and honor not only for himself but for the entire Philippine National Police as well."
The San Miguel Chief of Police was shot dead by a riding in tandem who are fleeing after robbing a sari-sari store.
On Monday, The PNP-Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) released the facial composite sketch of one of the suspects behind Garcia's murder.
The Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), the PNP, and PRO-3 are offering a Php 1 million reward for individuals who can give information that can lead to the arrest of the remaining suspects.
