The technical working group (TWG) of the Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI) has clarified that “Siomai King” entrepreneur Jonathan Payawal So and his business partner Carlito Macadangdang are not considered persons of interest in its ongoing investigation, as reported by RH Jecelle Ricafort
According to TWG Chairman Usec. Aboy Paraiso, in an interview with DZRH, So and Macadangdang are not among the more than 140 individuals currently under review. This means the group is not examining their assets at this time.
Earlier reports suggested that freeze orders had been issued on hundreds of bank accounts and several properties allegedly linked to the businessmen. However, an ICI official told DZRH News that the two will be summoned once the commission’s investigation is fully completed.
The Department of Justice (DOJ) is also reportedly looking into the possible involvement of So and Macadangdang in the flood control anomalies connected to Topnotch Catalyst Builders.
In response, the two businessmen maintained that they have no involvement in the flood control irregularities and said they are prepared to face any accusations in the proper forum.
