Ahead of the extended SIM registration deadline on July 25, 2023, there are currently more than 104 million registered mobile phone subscriber identification modules (SIMs).
As of July 19, 2023, 104,076,843 SIMs had been registered, according to information from the National Telecommunications Commission's SIM registration update.
This represents 61.94% of the overall subscriber base of 168,016,400.
Meanwhile, 49.2 million Smart subscribers make up the 104.076 million registered SIMs, or 74.20% of the 66.304 million total subscribers to the company.
Globe with 47.47 million registered SIMs, or 54.73% of its 86.746 million total users.
DITO Telecommunity had 7.4 million registered subscribers, or 49.54 percent of its 14.964 million total users.
According to the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), there will be no further extensions to the deadline.
Anyone using an unregistered SIM card will immediately lose connectivity at 12:01 a.m. dated July 26.
Despite the fact that unregistered SIMs were deactivated a day beyond the deadline, the DICT announced a five-day grace period for reactivating the disconnected SIMs.
President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. authorized a 90-day extension of the SIM registration period from the original deadline of April 26 till July 25 in April.
