A special gift has come for Shawols this Christmas as SHINee's Taemin updates fans on his military discharge date countdown on Instagram.
On December 25 (Christmas Day), Taemin greeted fans on his story with a "Merry Christmas 🎄" while asking them how they are and reminding them to dress warmly during this cold season. Spotted on the upper right corner in the same post, which says "D-100" is a hint about when his completed mandatory military service would be.
Based on his countdown, his discharge date would be on April 4, 2023.
Taemin enlisted in the army last May 31, 2021.
In a statement released by his agency SM Entertainment last January 14, 2022, Taemin was transferred from the Military Band to Public Service duty due to depression and panic disorder and has been receiving treatment ever since. Because of this, his exact discharge date is unknown and fans were eagerly waiting for an update on it.
Apart from the said post, He also shared videos and photos of his adorable fur friend Koong playing around with bubbles.

Meanwhile, Taemin was spotted sitting next to SM Entertainment founder, Lee Soo Man, in Key's solo concert "G.O.A.T" (Greatest Of All Time) last October 2022.
Shawols cheered as they saw Taemin on the big screen, showing his bright smile, at the crowd showing how much they have missed him.
