SEVENTEEN K-pop boy band member Jeonghan will start his mandatory military service on September 26, 2024, the band’s label PLEDIS Entertainment announced on Thursday, September 12.
“We wish to share the news of Jeonghan’s upcoming enlistment in the military, scheduled for September 26, 2024. As announced before, he will not be able to take part in the promotional activities for SEVENTEEN’s 12th mini album and the world tour. However, he will appear in various pre-recorded content,” PLEDIS Entertainment wrote in a statement.
The agency also requested fans to refrain from visiting the military service site on the day of Jeonghan’s enlistment, as there will be no official event on that day. However, heartfelt messages of support to the member are encouraged.
“We ask for your continued love and support for the artist. Kindly send your best wishes for his safe and healthy return. We will also remain committed to providing Jeonghan with all the necessary support during this time,” the agency said.
In an earlier announcement on Weverse, PLEDIS Entertainment informed fans that Jeonghan had already filmed most of the contents he could in advance.
Apart from Jeonghan, Jun will be pursuing acting and other opportunities in China in the latter half of the year. Like the former, he had already completed filming as much content in the time given. However, due to schedule conflicts, Jun will not be participating in Lollapalooza Berlin and music show performances for SEVENTEEN’s 12th mini album and world tour.
On September 8, SEVENTEEN became the first K-pop act to headline at Lollapalooza Berlin. It also marked Jeonghan’s last performance before his official military service enlistment in the second half of September.
SEVENTEEN is a 13-member K-pop boy band formed by PLEDIS Entertainment. The group consists of S.Coups, Jeonghan, Joshua, Jun, Hoshi, Wonwoo, Woozi, DK, Mingyu, The8, Seungkwan, Vernon, and Dino. They have been active since 2015.
