Serbia snagged the first ticket to the semifinals of the 2023 FIBA World Cup.

Serbia defeated Lithuania, 87-68, in the quarterfinals match held on Tuesday, September 5, at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.

Atlanta Hawks guard Bogdan Bogdanovic scored 21 points, and Filipi Petrusev added 17 points to lead Serbia that went up by 25 points at most.

After ending the first quarter down by one, 25-24, Serbia kept Lithuania scoreless in the first two minutes of the second period to seize the lead, 30-25.

Back-to-back baskets by Bogdanovic extended the lead of Serbia to 11 points, 49-38, before halftime.

Serbia never felt threatened after Stefan Jovic buried a three-pointer, 62-48, at the middle of the third quarter.

Tadas Sedekerskis finished with 14 points, and Rokas Jokubaitis chipped in 13 points to pace Lithuania, which prior to quarterfinals went undefeated.
