An elderly woman fell to her death on a footbridge in Cubao, Quezon City on early Sunday, March 2.
Although authorities are still investigating the motive behind the elderly woman’s tragic demise, the report by RH 5 Val Gonzales said that it remains unclear whether the woman jumped or was pushed over the footbridge.
Based on the initial investigation, authorities said the senior citizen had no signs of injuries from being run over by a vehicle. The injuries were sustained from her fall from the footbridge.
Authorities also indicated that the woman was not carrying any of her belongings at the time of the incident.
The incident caused traffic along the Southbound lane of the EDSA tunnel in Cubao, Quezon City.

In a follow-up report, it said that the woman’s remains had been taken away from the scene. Her identity remains unclear, as she did not have any form of identification. However, the police suspect the woman lives nearby.
They are currently trying to identify the victim to locate her family.
According to an investigator from the Quezon City Police District’s (QCPD) Criminal Investigation Detection Unit (CIDU), a piece of paper ripped from a book page was found on the scene.
The note indicated that the person who wrote it was having a difficult time in life. For now, authorities suspect the note was written by the woman. If proven to be true, it could indicate that the elderly had taken her own life.
