Senator Joel Villanueva has tested positive for COVID-19.

The senator on Friday said that he is currently in isolation after testing positive in an RT-PCR test.

(I advised my close contacts over the past days on my condition, and we are currently in isolation.)

According to the senator, he is fully vaccinated and already received his booster shot against COVID-19.

"Malaki po ang tiwala ko na malalampasan natin itong balakid na magpatuloy ang trabaho natin sa Senado," he said.

(I trust that I will get over this hurdle preventing from continuing my duties in the Senate.)

(We are one with workers who are facing the struggle of the pandemic every day for their livelihoods. You are my inspiration to continue supporting the welfare of workers in the Senate.)

The country has reported over 3.5 million cases of COVID-19, according to the Department of Health, with active cases over 213,000
