Senator Sonny Angara on Tuesday, January 16, assured that the Senate would not push for the political reforms in the Philippine 1987 Constitution.
Interviewed during DZRH Dos Por Dos, he said they would just focus on amendment of economic provisions as Senators might disagree with political reforms.
"Hindi naman papayag ang mga Senador dahil kami ay pirmi kami na ang pag-uusapan lang dito ay economic provisions," the Senator said when asked if amending the Constitution's political provisions would be tackled when the committee starts hearing the Resolution of Both Houses No. 6.

Resolution of Both Houses No. 6 seeks to review and amend the provisions focusing on advertising, education, and public services. The resolution was authored by Angara, Senate President Juan Miguel 'Migz' Zubiri, and Senate President Pro-Tempore Loren Legarda.
According to Angara, there is a possibility that additional provisions might be proposed.
The Senator believes that tackling political provisions may cause a delay in the proposed amendment of the constitution's economic provisions.
He said they would invite economic experts and other professionals in the committee level hearing.
