Senate Majority leader Joel Villanueva is looking forward to convening Legislative Executive Development Advisory Council (LEDAC) to discuss the priority bills proposed by President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. in his first State of the Nation Address (SONA).
In a report from RH 28 Raymund Dadpaas, the Senator said it is important to discuss in detail the 19 priority measures.
“We’re looking forward to the LEDAC being convened soon so that we can take up the 19 pieces of legislation that the President has laid out in his speech. Bilang bagong-hirang na Senate Majority Leader, ang mga panukalang batas na ito ang pagtutuunan po natin ng pansin at prayoridad,” he said.
According to Villanueva, it is clear that the proposed bills laid out by President Marcos are rooted in the experiences and lessons from the crises of the pandemic, economy, energy, and education.
Villanueva noted that they will evaluate the current tax collection to ensure that tax is collected properly and effectively.
He said it is necessary to balance the needs of the government and the affected sectors.
