Senator Robinhood 'Robin' Padilla has apologized to the Senate sergeant-at-arms and medical bureau director for her wife, TV host and actress Mariel Padilla's controversial Vitamin-C drip session inside his office.

Padilla extended his apologies to Sergeant-at-arms Lt Gen. Roberto Ancan Pa and Senate Medical Bureau Renato Sion in a separate letter dated and released to the media on Monday, February 26.

"Nais ko pong humingi ng paumanhin sa insidenteng kinabilagan ng aking maybahay na si Mariel T. Padilla noong nakaraang Lunes, ikaw-19 ng Pebrero, 2024," he said.

The senator stressed that his wife had no intention of disregarding the existing rules imposed by the Senate Security and Medical Bureau and disrespecting the institution itself.

"Makakaasa po kayo na hindi na mauulit ang gannitong uri ng pangyayari. Maraming salamat po sa inyong pag-unawa," he assured.

Mariel also addressed the controversy in an Instagram live last Saturday, February 24, saying that her intention was to inspire people to take care of themselves and not disrespect the Senate.

"My intention is to show that no matter busy we are, dapat pina-prioritize pa rin natin ang paglalagay ng bitamina sa ating katawan. I had no intention or whatsoever to disrespect the Senate and anything like that. It was never in my intention," she said.

She also posted an official statement on her Instagram on Sunday, February 25, in which she clarified that she received a Vitamin C Drip and not glutathione that was supervised by a professional nurse.
