Sen. Imee Marcos urges House leadership to "listen" to PBBM
by Alessandra C. Frianela03 December 2024

Presidential sister Senator Imee Marcos urged her cousin, House Speaker Martin Romualdez, to "listen" to President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.

This is in response to the President's call to refrain from wasting time on filing an impeachment complaint against Vice President Sara Duterte.

In an exclusive interview with DZRH's Damdaming Bayan on Tuesday, Senator Imee Marcos said that the President should be respected and political ambitions should be set aside for the sake of the country.

"Dapat makinig na sa Pangulo, alang-alang sa bansa ayan na lang ang isipin natin," Sen. Imee Marcos said.

"Isantabi muna ang mga hinanakit, ang galit, ang ambsiyon ay talaga itabi muna lahat 'yan at anlayo-layo pa ng 2028," she added.

Meanwhile, the senator distanced herself from the political feud between President Marcos and her friend, Vice President Duterte, which she referred to as a bloody and murky dispute.

She further explained that this is the reason why she distanced herself and chose not to align with anyone, as she no longer wanted to take sides.

"Kaya ito nga, sabi ko magtrabaho na lang tayo at iyon ang panawagan ko sa lahat, pwede ba?" she added.

The Senator mentioned that she has no intention of intervening in the issues between the two leaders of the country and will instead pray for them.

On November 22, the Vice President disclosed in a virtual press briefing that she had made arrangements for someone to assassinate President Marcos Jr., the First Lady, and the House Speaker if she were to be killed.
