Sen. Estrada gives PNP, NBI ultimatum on Guo's arrest warrant
by Mika Jenymae Rasing31 July 2024

Senator Jinggoy Estrada has given law enforcers an additional two weeks to arrest Alice Guo, stating that prolonging the search could impact their 2025 budget.

The ultimatum issued to the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) is Estrada’s way of urging a faster search for Guo. He added that if the suspended mayor cannot be located and arrested within a month, the 2025 budget might be affected.

“You better get your acts together. Kailangan may proper coordination kayo (You should all have proper coordination),” Estrada stressed.

Guo was given an arrest warrant after failing to attend the two senate hearings linked to the raided illegal POGO in Bamban, Tarlac earlier this year. Estrada questioned the reason why operatives could not locate a high-profile individual after the Bureau of Immigration (BI) said that Guo Hua Ping was still in the country.

Moreover, NBI Assistant Director Angelito Magno disclosed the reported sightings of Guo in Bulacan before the issuance of her arrest warrant.

The senator previously moved Guo’s warrant of arrest issuance following the letter of explanation submitted to the Committee on Women, Children, Family Relations, and Gender Equality.

Guo continues to be in hiding and has yet to be located and arrested by the authorities
