The security guard who was ran over by a sport utility vehicle (SUV) in Mandaluyong last year has opted for a settlement with the driver of the SUV.
According to the victim's counsel, security guard Christian Floralde decided to settle the case against SUV driver Jose Antonio Sanvicente due to the financial assistance extended by the suspect to him. Their camp did not disclose the settlement account.
Following this, a Mandaluyong court dismiss the charges of frustrated murder against Sanvicente.
In a dashcam video that went viral on social media in 2022, Floralde was seen maneuvering the traffic flow near a mall in the city when he asked the SUV to stop. However, instead of stopping, Sanvicente hit the guard on his left leg causing him to fall.
He then continued to run him over before fleeing the area.
Following the incident, Floralde sustained an abrasion on his head and had difficulty in breathing.
Sanvicente was later charged with frustrated murder and Abandonment of One's Own Victim or Violation of Article 275 of the Revised Penal Code.
