The Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (RDRRMC) - Bicol on Tuesday canceled sea travel in all provinces in Bicol Region after the province was placed under Signal Number 1 due to Tropical Depression Amang.
In an advisory signed by RDRRMC Bicol Regional Director Claudio Yucot, it stated that the cancelation was issued to ensure the safety of all sea travelers amid inclement weather.
All sea trips will resume once the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) lifted the Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1, RDMRRC Bicol said.
The agency also advised all land travelers bound for Catanduanes, Masbate, Visayas, and Mindanao to suspend their travel "to avoid congestion" in ports and of vehicles along the Maharlika Highway.
"All agencies concerned must monitor and report to RDMRRC EOC all incidents related to this advisory," the RDRRMC Bicol said.
In the state weather bureau's 11 am bulletin, TD Amang was last spotted 270 km East of Virac, Catanduanes, and it has maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour with a gust of up to 70 km/h.
