Multiple school websites under the edu.ph domain faced technical problems on Friday, January 24.
The affected schools, including the University of the Philippines (UP), University of Santo Tomas (UST), University of the East (UE), Adamson University (AdU), and Our Lady of Fatima University (OLFU), among others, issued their respective advisories.
"There may be issues with accessing websites and online services under the EDU.PH domain, which includes UP System and CU websites," UP Information Technology Development Center mentioned in its advisory.
"There is currently an issue with PHNet, which manages all EDU.PH domain names," it added.
Similarly, the UST announced experiencing technical difficulties, assuring students that the university's online systems remain intact and will be accessible once the service providers resolve the issue.
In the meantime, while the website remains inaccessible, the public has been advised to reach out to the university through social media or official email channels for any urgent concerns.
Moreover, both UE and Adamson University reported experiencing similar issues with their websites, noting that this problem is not isolated and is also affecting other institutions using the edu.ph domain.
OLFU also directed its students to temporary enrollment platforms that they can access while the technical issue is being resolved.
Meanwhile, the majority of the universities that issued advisories stated that they will release another update once the issue is resolved and their websites are accessible again.
