The Supreme Court (SC) of the Philippines released the complete results of the 2025 Bar Examinations on Wednesday, January 7, following a special en banc session headed by Associate Justice Amy C. Lazaro-Javier, chairperson of the 2025 Bar Exam Committee.
5,594 out of 11,425 law graduates passed the 2025 Bar, yielding a 48.98% passing rate, higher than last year’s figure. The digitalized and regionalized bar exams held on September 7, 10, and 14, 2025
In the list of top performers, Jhenroniel Rhey Timola Sanchez of the University of the Philippines–Diliman emerged as the top notcher with an impressive 92.70% average, leading this year’s highest-scoring bar candidates. Sanchez’s achievement highlights the strong performance of graduates from top law schools across the country.
The Supreme Court also released rankings of top-performing law schools based on their bar passing performance. Schools with the highest passing rates included Ateneo de Manila University, San Beda University, University of San Carlos, University of the Philippines, and University of Santo Tomas, among others—reflecting a broad distribution of legal excellence from both Metro Manila and provincial institutions.
The oath-taking and signing of the Roll of Attorneys for the newly passed lawyers will be held on February 6, at the Philippine Arena, marking their official entry into the legal profession.
The Bar exam remains the essential licensure test for aspiring Filipino lawyers, and this year’s results mark a notable increase in successful candidates, demonstrating both rising standards and the effectiveness of the Supreme Court’s digital and regional testing format.
