Political blogger Sass Rogando Sasot released an apology statement on her twitter account on Thursday, July 6, for disclosing on social media the stock footages DDB Philippines had used in Department of Tourism’s (DOT) “Love the Philippines” promotional video.
In her statement, Sasot said she should have informed DDB Philippines and DOT first on her findings.
“They should have been informed first that the tourism video they released to the public contains those footages," she wrote.
“Because of what I did, DDB Philippines lost lucrative contract and the Department of Tourism is now on heat water. They do not deserve this, as they are just doing their job,” she added.
Sasot also apologized for informing the Filipino people of what she found out, which according to her, caused shame to the country.
“The blame is on me and not to those who are paid by the Filipino people to do their job," she said.
