Vice President Sara Duterte expressed on Tuesday a readiness to undergo a neuropsychiatric exam—which she allowed to be broadcast live, no less.
“Wala akong problema doon. Game tayo (I have no problem with that, I’m game). I will call that—neuropsychiatric exam,” she told reporters in an ambush interview.
While Duterte had no qualms against taking neuropsych and drug tests, she demanded that all Congressional candidates take drug tests too.
“As a voter I demand, magpa-drug test sila. Kayong lahat mga kababayan, you demand na mag-drug test ang mga congressional candidate dahil kung unstable ako, sa paningin ko, unstable rin sila,” she insisted.
(As a voter I demand that they take drug tests. Fellow countrymen, you should demand that the Congressional candidates undergo drug tests because if I’m unstable, to me, they’re unstable too.)
On October 18, Duterte told press that she had thought of beheading President Marcos, as their relationship had spiraled and become “toxic.” She also brought up having warned Senator Imee Marcos, the President’s sister, that she would dig up Marcos Sr.’s remains and dump them into the West Philippine Sea should their camp refuse to stop attacking her.
President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.’s son, Ilocos Norte Representative Sandro Marcos, denounced Duterte’s “bizarre temper tantrum,” saying she has “crossed the line.” Her statements should serve as a reminder, Sandro said, not to “take our mental health for granted.”
