Vice President Sara Duterte has "no comment" on the recent decision of the International Criminal Court (ICC) to continue the probe on the bloody war on drugs campaign of his father, former president Rodrigo Roa Duterte.
When asked for her comment, Duterte answered in a short statement, "no comment."
On Tuesday evening, ICC Appeals Chamber Presiding Judge Marc Perrin de Brichambaut announced that the ICC prosecutors will continue the drug war probe as the members voted a 3-to-2.
In April, the Chamber rejected the request submitted by the OSG to suspend the investigation as it cited that the Philippine government failed to explain "how the alleged absence of a jurisdictional or legal basis for the resumption of the Prosecutor's activities pending the resolution of the appeal would defeat its very purpose and create an irreversible situation that could not be corrected."
In another chance interview, Duterte also said “no comment” when asked about her father’s visit to Chinese President Xi Jinping.
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. earlier said that the former president did not need his permission to visit Xi, adding that he welcomed any new lines of positive communication with China.
“I am sure he will be able to tell us what happened during their conversation and see how that affects us,” Marcos said.
