As much as his father presidential apsirant Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr. is concerned, his eldest son, Sandro, is "very qualified" to run for congressman.
“Marami na siyang natutunan, sabi ko nga kung matuloy kang congressman very qualified ka na,” Marcos Jr. was quoted as saying in a statement released by the office of House Majority Leader Martin Romualdez.
“Mas qualified ka doon sa mga ibang bagong pasok na walang pinagdaanan na ganyan,” he added.
Sandro, 28, is running for the congressional post of Ilocos Norte’s first district in the upcoming polls. He is the eldest of the three sons of Marcos Jr. and lawyer Liza Araneta-Marcos.
During his birthday celebration on March 8, Sandro expressed his appreciation to Romualdez, his father's first cousin for training and for immersing him in legislative processes.
"Lahat po ng natutunan ko sa Kongreso ay dahil sa kaniya. Ako po ay nagpapasalamat na nandito siya ngayon," Sandro said.
Likewise, Romualdez said Sandro is very qualified, revealing that he mentored the latter.
"Sandro Marcos is very much qualified and ready for the congressional job that he is aiming for. He has been trained and was very familiar with the legislative process and its nitty-gritty," he said.
"I should know because he spent two years working in my office doing his congressional training, with no less than myself supervising and overseeing him," he added.
