Former Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) board member Sandra Cam was freed from the Philippine National Police (PNP) Custodial Center, PNP PIO chief Police Colonel Red Maranan confirmed on Tuesday.
In a statement, Maranan said Cam walked free from detention at 10:50 pm on January 16 following the dismissal of the murder raps against her.
"Siya ay na-escortan na ng police patungo sa kanyang tirahan," he added.
On Monday, the Manila Regional Trial Court Branch 42 dropped the murder charges filed against Sandra and her son Marco Martin Cam, in relation to the killing of former Batuan, Masbate Vice Mayor Charlie Yuson III.
The wife of Yuson pointed to Sandra and her son as the mastermind behind the killing.
The Yuson and Cam clan are political rivals in the said province.
The Manila court also cleared the charges against five other accused, namely Nelson Cambaya, Junel Gomez, Juanito De Luna, Bradford Solis, and Rigor Dela Cruz.
