After three years, Filipino travelers can now directly apply for a Chinese travel visa, port visa, and multiple visa-free entry, Chinese Ambassador to the Philippines Huang Xilian announced on Friday.
In a statement on his Facebook page, Xilian said China resumed issuance of all types of visas for foreign tourists last Wednesday, March 15.
Xilian said Pinoy travelers could process their applications online via China Consular Affairs' official website.
"Interested travelers are welcome to consult with the Chinese Embassy in Manila and Consulates in Cebu, Laoag, and Davao for more detailed requirements and procedures," he added.
Xilian said the application for visa-free entry to the following areas would likewise resume:
- visa-exemption for Hainan
- visa-exemption cruise for Shanghai
- visa-exemption for foreigners to visit Guangdong from Hong Kong and Macao
- visa-exemption for ASEAN tour groups to Guilin and Guangxi
"I'm very excited to invite everyone back to beautiful China! Welcome!" the Chinese Ambassador said.
In 2020, during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, China suspended visa applications related to travel and medical treatment to foreign travelers.
