Ryan Bang caught the attention of the Korean press after showing his multilingual skills during his hosting stint at the recently concluded Asia Artist Award held (AA) in Bulacan on Dec. 14.

Bang was invited to host the AAA 2023 red carpet, where he stood out for showcasing his knowledge of speaking Korean, Filipino, and English, getting the attention of the South Korean-based press.

The “It’s Showtime!” host mentioned that he was interviewed by a Korean reporter and was asked about his impressive grasp in three languages, to which he answered that he studied in the Philippines.

With his hilarious commentary, using Tagalog and Korean, Bang was able to steal the show and amuse the Korean artists. One example was when he vocally confessed his fanboying side to girl group NewJeans, which made two members, Hanni and Hyein, giggle.

He even talked to the South Korean boy group Stray Kids and told them to visit the “It’s Showtime” stage, uttered in Tagalog, and unleashed his inner fanboy during Kim Seon Ho’s appearance on the red carpet.

The J-pop girl group Sakurazaka46 has no exemption from Bang’s witty comments, as he said in Tagalog that the girls looked like they had class later.

Most of all, his way of joking around Melai Cantiveros-Franciso’s red carpet entrance, telling the latter to show good poses as the photos will be featured in Korean media outlets,

In May 2023, Bang revealed that he declined an offer from Korean entertainment agency SM Entertainment, feeling that he would not fit the standards of Korean netizens.
