State-owned media Radio Television Malacañang (RTVM) will direct the upcoming second State of the Nation Address (SONA) of President Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr. slated for next week.
This was confirmed by House Secretary-General Velasco in an interview with reporters on Monday, July 17.
“‘Yung information na nakuha namin from the Office of the President and Presidential Communications Office, the RTVM will take care of it. In other words, ‘yung mga veteran nila, kaya-kaya nila iyan,” he said.
Velasco noted that since the RTVM has been covering Marcos’, they already have a grasp of the things to do.
Earlier, it was reported that Presidential Adviser on Creative Communications Paul Soriano will direct the second SONA.
He was also the director of Marcos’ first state address in July last year.
When asked why Soriano will not direct the SONA, the House Secretary-General said he has no idea about this information.
“That is really the prerogative of the Office of the President and the Presidential Communications Office,” Velasco added.
Marcos is presently gearing up for his second SONA. He earlier said that his speech would be simple and that he will focus on presenting the progress that the country has made under his leadership.
At least 2,000 guests are expected to attend the President's state address to be held at Batasan Pambansa Complex on July 24,
