Commissioner Rossana Fajardo has officially tendered her resignation from the Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI), with her departure set to take effect on December 31, 2025.

In her resignation statement, Fajardo highlighted her work since her appointment in September 2025, citing her contributions in financial oversight, infrastructure project investigations, and the development of comprehensive approaches for evidence gathering and work planning.

She noted that her efforts have produced recommendations aimed at improving government procurement and budgeting processes related to infrastructure projects.

“I have completed the work I set out to accomplish when I was appointed, ensuring that the foundational goals of the Commission have been met,” Fajardo said.

She also emphasized that investigative and prosecutorial responsibilities will now transition to other agencies, including the Department of Justice and the Office of the Ombudsman, which are better positioned to ensure accountability for contractors and government officials.

Fajardo further cited the ongoing prioritization of bills establishing the Independent Commission Against Infrastructure Corruption and the Independent People’s Commission, describing them as future bodies with enhanced powers to support the Ombudsman in prosecuting irregularities in government infrastructure projects.

Since its creation in September 2025, the ICI has already seen the resignation of three of its officials: Benjamin Magalong (special adviser), Rogelio Singson (commissioner), and now Rossana Fajardo.

The current members of the commission are Chairman Andres Reyes Jr., Special Adviser Rodolfo Azurin Jr., and Executive Director Brian Keith Hosaka.

No reason was provided by Fajardo for her resignation, and the commission has yet to announce a temporary replacement for her position.

Fajardo expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve alongside individuals committed to transparency and accountability, noting the honor of contributing to a mission focused on the welfare of the Filipino people.
