Senatorial candidate Harry Roque on Monday slammed as fake news the circulating reports that he jumped in line to vote.

According to Roque, they only inquired about their precinct and due to the long lines, they said they would just go back.

(We have not yet voted. To those who are spreading the news that we jumped in line to vote, you are fake news. We went there earlier but due to the long lines, we said we would just go back.

"Walang volunteers sa precinct na humarang; lahat helpful," he said on a follow-up tweet.

(No volunteer tried to block us; all were helpful. You are all easy to fall for fake news.)

In addition, Roque also defended that he was not raising his tone while inquiring and that he only had a loud voice.

His explanation came after a circulating screenshot claimed that Roque jumped in line to vote, but was prevented from doing so.

In further defense, posted a screenshot from Barangay Captain Butz Tenchaves, who clarified that: "Mr. Harry Roque thought he was in clustered precinct 814 which had no lines hence we allowed entry. Then upon finding out that he was clustered precinct 816 he [lined] up like everyone else but left given the long-standing line."

Roque in a later tweet explained that he is now in White Plains, Quezon City, to wait for their turn in voting.

(We are now in line here in White Plains, Quezon City, with my wife Mylah and my brother Paul. We did not jump in line.)
