“What happens if you put two Mirandas in a room?” That is the question that fashion magazine Vogue has set out to answer ahead of “The Devil Wears Prada 2” premiere.

Award-winning actress Meryl Streep and former Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour graced the cover of the fashion magazine’s May 2026 issue, sitting down for an interview with film director Greta Gerwig on fashion, family, and the highly anticipated sequel to “The Devil Wears Prada.”

Speaking with Vogue, Wintour expressed her satisfaction with how the first film acknowledged the fashion industry's scale as a business. However, Wintour set her foot down on rumours surrounding the sequel, which states that the business is disintegrating.

“I like to think we’re evolving rather than disintegrating. We are still here. We’re all doing our jobs—in different ways and across multiple platforms instead of just one, but how wonderful is that? We’re reaching far more people,” Wintour tells Vogue.

Upon hearing the rumors, Wintour reached out to Streep to confirm if they were true. After reading the script, Wintour said that Streep had called her back and revealed as little information, reassuring her, “Anna, I think it’s going to be all right.”

“She told me very little about what happens in the film, but I trusted her implicitly,” she added.

With the sequel already set to premiere in a few weeks, Wintour expressed her appreciation for Streep, however distant the character of Miranda Priestly is from herself.

Aside from the magazine cover, the two powerhouse personalities also had a “chance meeting” in an elevator. Streep, embodying Miranda Priestly, asks Wintour, “Don’t I know you from somewhere?”

“The Devil Wears Prada 2” is set almost 20 years after audiences first witnessed Runway Magazine’s peak, reuniting the original main cast: Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci.

The film is set to premiere in Philippine cinemas on April 29.
