According to Commission on Election (Comelec) chairman George Garcia, the Comelec en banc adopted House Resolution No. (HRN) 154 which ordered the discontinuation of the special polls to fill in the vacant post of expelled Arnolfo 'Arnie' Teves Jr.
In HRN 154, the House of Representatives said this is due to “all existing circumstances and present predicament affecting the province."
Meanwhile, the House Speaker will also serve as the caretaker of Palawan 3rd District following the passing of Palawan 3rd District Rep. Edward Hagedorn.
