Lawyer Victor Rodriguez holds no position in the cabinet of President Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr., Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin confirmed on Tuesday, Oct. 4.
“No, he is no longer a member of the cabinet. You must recall that he resigned for a specific reason and that reason is well published to you,” Bersamin clarified in an interview with the media.
“We cannot second-guess that reason, take it as it is stated by his secretary and let us respect his privacy,” he added.

On Sept. 17, Rodriguez officially resigned as Executive Secretary. He was the first top official to resign under the Marcos admin.
But he claimed in his earlier statement that although he has resigned as ES, he would continue to work as Presidential Chief of Staff.
The Office of the Press Secretary (OPS) then confirmed that Rodriguez would take a new role as chief of staff in accordance with Administrative Order no. 1.
Bersamin clarified that the Palace has not issued the order appointing him for the position.
"Ang totoo niyan ay kung meron talaga, ililitaw natin kung meron. But up to now, wala pang lumilitaw na ganiyan. We dont even talk about it," he said.
