Richard Anthony Fadullon took his oath of office on Wednesday, November 6, as the new prosecutor general for the National Prosecution Service (NPS) of the Department of Justice (DOJ).
Fadullon took his oath of office before Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla.
"As the country’s top prosecutor, Prosecutor General Fadullon is tasked with overseeing the operations of the National Prosecution Service (NPS) and ensuring the efficient and effective administration of justice," the DOJ wrote.
"He is expected to lead the NPS in its pursuit of justice, particularly in high-profile cases and cases of national significance," they added.
He served as the acting prosecutor general after Benedicto Malcontento resigned from his position in October. He led the NPS for five years before tendering his resignation this year.
On Monday, November 4, the Malacañang announced that President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. appointed Fadullon as the new prosecutor general for NPS.
