Cavite Provincial Police Office determined revenge as the main motive for the killing of an Australian national and two others in Tagaytay City.
Investigation results revealed that the suspect's motive was to retaliate against the management of Lake Hotel Tagaytay. The perpetrator, a former hotel employee, surrendered following the crime.
According to the authorities, the 33-year old former pool attendant was dismissed after being allegedly involed in a theft incident in the hotel.
It is still unclear how the suspect managed to enter the premises of the establishment to commit the crime, where he left the victims lifeless and tied up.
The suspect, who earlier surrendered this morning in Tuy, Batangas, is now under the custody of the Tagaytay police.
Regional Director of PRO4A PBGen Paul Lucas praised the special investigation task force group, led by Provincial Director PCOL Eleuterio M. Ricardo Jr., for identifying and locating the hiding place of the suspect before he surrendered.
“This operation is a testament to the effectiveness of the intelligence-driven and community-oriented approach to law enforcement. This development marks a significant step in the ongoing investigation and pursuit of justice for the victims and their families.” Ricardo Jr. said in his official statement on Wednesday.
The regional director also extended his gratitude to Local officials for their extensive help in solving the case.
“I would like to thank the Local Government Officials of Tuy, Batangas and Tagaytay City through their respective Local Chief Executive for their cooperation in bringing the suspect behind bars and giving justice to the victims and their families,” PBGEN Lucas said in his statement on Wednesday.
The body of the male victim has been transported to Australia, while the remains of his Filipina partner and her daughter-in-law will be burried in the Philippines.
