Retired Major General Juvymax Uy has been designated as Deputy Commissioner of the Bureau of Customs (BOC) by President Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr.

Uy took his oath of office before Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin last October 20.

The Malacanang has yet to release details about the appointment.

Hailing from Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental, Uy served as commander of the Army’s 6th Infantry Division, before his retirement from military service on May 21 this year.

Uy, who is a member of the Philippine Military Academy "Makatao” Class of 1989, held key leadership positions in his 37-year-long service in the military.

He served as the Internal Auditor and Assistant Chief of Staff for Intelligence of AFP, commander of the Philippine Army Intelligence Regiment, and Assistant Chief of Staff for Intelligence of the Philippine Army, among other key positions
