MANILA – The Government of the Republic of Korea is providing humanitarian aid amounting to USD 300,000 or approximately Php 16.9 million to the Philippine government as contribution for the country’s recovery and rehabilitation of damages caused by Typhoon Egay.
In a statement announced by the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in the Philippines, the aid was relayed personally by Korean Ambassador to the Philippines Lee Sang-hwa to Department of Foreign Affairs Secretary Enrique Manalo, during the reception on the occasion of the Dialogue on Maritime Governance in the South China Sea held Wednesday night.
“Following the damage caused by Typhoon Egay, the Government of the Republic of Korea has decided to provide humanitarian aid amounting to USD 300,000 in cash to the Philippines as an effort to contribute to the country’s expedited recovery and rehabilitation,” it said.
