The reported number of individuals who perished amid the heavy rains and flooding during the Christmas weekend rose to 25, according to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) on Wednesday.
In its 6 am situational report, the NDRRMC said 3 are confirmed while 22 are still subject to confirmation.
Northern Mindanao had the most number of fatalities with 16 deaths, followed by the Bicol region with 5 deaths, and Eastern Visayas and the Zamboanga Peninsula with two deaths each.
The NDRRMC also reported that 26 individuals are still missing and 9 others were injured.
The number of affected climbed to 102,476 families or 393,069 individuals.
Of these, 20,723 families, or 81,443 individuals are inside 292 evacuation centers while 13,745 families or 65,643 individuals are staying with relatives or friends.
About 1,196 houses were damaged — 909 were reported partially damaged and 287 were totally damaged.
Meanwhile, the NDRRMC reported that 22 infrastructures were damaged in MIMAROPA, Region 5, Region 10, and CARAGA. It amounted to a total of over Php 20,870,000.
