The Department of Justice (DOJ) announced on Monday that Secretary Jesus Crispin 'Boying' Remulla will take 10 days of wellness leave of absence due to "personal reasons".
In a press statement, the DOJ said the wellness leave is effective immediately.
"We kindly ask for your understanding and respect for the Secretary's privacy during this time. We look forward to the Secretary's return and his continued service to the DOJ and the Filipino people," it said.

The DOJ assured that while Remulla is on leave, officials and employees will continue in working diligently and fulling their responsibility to ensure a smooth operations in the department.
It added that it "will continue to carry out its vital functions and responsibilities, including the protection of the rights of every Filipino citizen, without any interruption."
The DOJ further stated that it remains committed to its mission of "upholding the rule of law and ansuring that justice is served."
