The Las Pi&ntilde;as Regional Trial Court Branch 197 on Friday acquitted Juanito Jose Remulla III, son of Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin 'Boying' Remulla, of illegal drug possession charges amounting to PHP 1.3 million.&nbsp;
In a report from RH Christian Ma&ntilde;o, Remulla's eldest son was acquitted due to issues on the chain of custody.
Juanito, 38, was <a href="https://www.dzrh.com.ph/post/doj-chief-remulla-will-not-intervene-with-son's-case" target="_blank" rel="noopener">nabbed</a> in his home in Las Pinas City last October 2022 while receiving a parcel containing kush or high-grade marijuana valued at PHP 1.25 million.
A copy of the court's decision was shared with the media.&nbsp;

Juanito is&nbsp;still facing a separate complaint for drug importation and violation of customs law at the Pasay Prosecutor&rsquo;s Office. He earlier pleaded not guilty to the illegal possession charge.&nbsp;
This incident mounted calls for the Justice Secretary to step down from his post out of delicadeza, but Remulla maintained that resignation <a href="https://www.dzrh.com.ph/post/remulla-on-calls-for-resignation:-%22it-never-entered-my-mind%22" target="_blank" rel="noopener">"never" entered his mind</a> because he has a "clear conscience."
