The unnecessary decorations must be removed from classrooms for the students to focus on their lessons, Vice President and DepEd Secretary Sara Duterte said on Thursday.

In a Facebook post, Duterte reminded teachers regarding an order seeking to maintain classroom cleanliness and remove unnecessary decorations as the school year approaches.

The Vice President earlier issued the order listing the implementing rules for Brigada Eskwela, which calls for schools to ensure that facilities are free from "unnecessary artwork, decorations, tarpaulin, and posters at all times."

Meanwhile, Duterte recognized stakeholders for being part of the current Brigada Eskwela 2023.

"Lubos akong nagpapasalamat sa lahat ng mga education stakeholders para sa inyong napakahalagang suporta at aktibong pakikilahok sa kaganapan ng Brigada Eskwela 2023," she added on her post.

Some teachers, however, expressed their opposition, as decorations are helpful for students' engagements, especially for children.
