Police found on Thursday, July 27, the remains of a doctor buried within the grounds of the Cotabato Regional and Medical Center (CRMC).
Retired PGen. Agustin Tello confirmed that the remains belong to his wife, Dr. Marivic Tello, who went missing last Sunday, July 23.
Authorities already have a suspect in custody.
The suspect, identified as Nasrudin Endaila, surrendered to the authorities and confessed to killing the doctor following a heated conversation.
The former police official said that his wife, who served as treasurer of the Cotabato City Medical Society, met with Endaila, the secretary of the association, before she went missing.
"Na-discover ni misis na maraming hindi na-account na pera ng association. I think, iyon ang nag-trigger," Tello told DZRH correspondent Jun Dimacutac.
