The Mall of Asia Arena lit up with the brightest lights as the K-pop girl group Red Velvet joined hands with rising P-pop stars BINI, BGYO, and Lady Pipay for a benefit concert for people with special needs last Friday, July 22.

"Be You: The World Will Adjust" featured performances from children with special needs as well as testimonies from celebrities Hasna Cabral, Troy Montero, and concert King Martin Nievera who all shared the respective journeys of their children with special needs.

Nievera shared how his son Santino, who was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, has changed his life forever. He also rendered a special song number after.

For the concert part of the show, Lady Pipay was the first to take on the stage starting off with a powerful acrobatic stunt followed by a show-stopper Jennifer Lopez medley.

The performance was truly enough to hype the excited crowd for what's more in store for them that night.

Loud cheers and chants filled the arena as ReVeLuvs welcomed the five-piece K-pop group composed of Irene, Seulgi, Wedndy, Joy, and Yeri as they return to the Philippines stage for the first time since 2019.

Red Velvet opened with its latest single "Feel My Rhythm," followed by their 2019-hit and another much-awaited performance of "Psycho" from their album "The ReVe Festival: Finale."

And just like in 2019, the group gifted their fans a surprise B-side mellow song "Hello Sunset" from their 2020 album Queendom, wherein the girls showed off their vocals and melodies.

Speaking to the crowd in Hangul, the members hoped they were able to give enough courage and support to people with special needs through their presence in the concert, and urged their fans to do so as well.

Joy, likewise, taught the crowd how to do the signature “confetti part” of their song "Feel My Rhythm."

Red Velvet, in a separate interview, desires to be back in the country for their solo concert this time. Their last concert, La Rouge, was cut short in 2020 following the pandemic and the incident with Wendy.

Red Velvet closed its set with "Queendom" and their summer chart-topping hit "Red Flavor."

The group last visited Manila in 2019 for KWMF 2019 Manila, headlining the concert alongside labelmates NCT 127.

Following Red Velvet, homegrown P-pop talents BINI and BGYO showcased their impressive performances, giving every Filipino a reason to beam with pride.

BINI, sans members Aiah and Gwen, performed “Born to Win”, “Na Na Na”, and “Lagi” while BGYO closed the show with performances of their songs “The Light”, “He’s Into Her”, and “Tumitigil and Mundo”.
