San Beda University’s star guard Janti Miller has officially parted ways with the Red Lions, closing a significant chapter in his collegiate basketball journey.

Miller, a 22-year-old NCAA Mythical Team member, announced his departure on Saturday, reflecting on the role San Beda played in shaping both his game and personal growth.

“I was just a young kid traveling across the world to play basketball in a new environment. You guys took a chance on me and embraced me as one of your own,” he said. Miller added that the experience also helped him connect with his Filipino heritage.

However, Miller revealed that his decision to leave is also tied to league timing.

“Unfortunately, with recent understanding of the timing of Beda joining the UAAP, I have decided to transfer. I wouldn’t want to do it with anyone else, but I refuse to play in the NCAA league,” he said.

The Red Lions recently reclaimed the NCAA men’s basketball title last December, 2025 and Miller said he leaves “as a winner,” grateful for the guidance of his coaches and the camaraderie of his teammates.

During Season 101, Miller averaged 19.77 points, 6.08 rebounds, and 1.15 assists per game, leaving a lasting mark on the program before transferring to continue his basketball career elsewhere.
